Man kills 4-year-old on assumption that he is gay
A North Carolina man is accused of killing a 4-year-old boy on the assumption that he is gay, according to WRAL.
Peter Lucas Moses, 27, led a “religious” group of women and children and according to the report, they feared him.
Moses shot 4-year-old Jadon Higganbothan in the head in fear that the child was gay. According to prosecutors, Moses assumed that the child might be gay because his father had left his mother. He told the mother, Vania Rae Sisk, to “get rid” of the child.
Prosecutors said that Larhonda Renee Smith, 40, told Moses that Jadon had hit another child’s bottom. After hearing this, Moses became angry and started walking around the house with a gun. Later, she told him that he had hit another child’s bottom.
“He starts screaming, ‘I told you to get rid of him!’” and told Sisk, “‘How am I going to do this?’” [District Attorney Tracy Cline] recalled the witness’ account.
Moses ordered two of the women to set up computers and speakers in the garage, prosecutors said they were told by the witness. They said he started playing music with the Lord’s Prayer in Hebrew, took Jadon in the garage and shut the door, and the women then heard a gunshot.
Prosecutors said the witness told them that the women helped clean up the body of Jadon, who had been shot in the head, and put it in a suitcase in Moses’ master suite. He later told them to get the body out because it was beginning to smell, prosecutors said.
Moses also killed Antoinetta Yvonne McKoy, 28, after he learned that she couldn’t have children and wanted to leave the group.
Sisk, Smith, and Lavada Harris face charges of first-degree murder for McKoy’s death and accessories in Jardon’s death.

Pope visits Spain, greeted by gay kissing flash mob
The Pope visited Barcelona, Spain on Sunday, and was greeted by gay kissing flash mob. Participants were protesting the Pope’s condemnation of gay marriage laws in Spain.
The flash mob, which was organized on Facebook, attracted around 200 participants, according to the New York Times.
“Many gay Spaniards don’t see why they should pay for the Pope’s visits, only to have their way of life criticized”
During the Pope’s homily on Sunday, he defended traditional families and denounced Spanish laws allowing gay marriage.
The protest gained more media attention last week, when Facebook shut down the event’s page, but was later reinstated. A Facebook official stated that the event was created by a fake account, which violates Facebook’s policies.
Gay marriage has been legal in Spain since 2005. A 2007 Pew Research study showed that 82% of Spain supported homosexuality and 9% did not (9% were unsure).

Polish priest wants “faggots” burned at the stake
Father Raphael Trytek of Krakow, Poland told reporters at a gay rights protest that “faggots” should be burned at the stake.
The reporter asks why the priest uses the word “faggot” rather than “gay,” and he says “‘Gay’ suggests something positive while it is very negative, therefore the word “faggot” is very appropriate.” (translated)
He goes on the say that homosexuality is a choice and a disease and that homosexuals should be burned at the stake.

UK Government suggest the Pope should bless gay marriage and launch Papal-branded condoms
The Foreign Office has been forced to issue a public apology after an official document suggested Britain should mark the Pope’s visit this year by asking him to open an abortion clinic, bless a gay marriage and launch a range of Benedict-branded condoms.
The document, obtained by the Sunday Telegraph, also suggested Benedict XVI could show his hard line on the sensitive issue of child abuse allegations against Roman Catholic priests by “sacking dodgy bishops” and launching a helpline for abused children.
The ideas were included in a paper titled “The ideal visit would see…” which was distributed to officials in Whitehall and Downing Street preparing for the historic visit in September. A cover note said the paper stemmed from a brainstorming session and accepted that some of the ideas were “far-fetched”.
An investigation was launched after some recipients of the memo objected to the disrespectful tone of the paper.
City can’t force owner to remove “to be gay = death” sign
A Wyoming man who has painted “to be gay = death,” on his fence near a high school cannot be forced to remove it, according to city officials.
According to the report by trib.com, the sign is placed where many students walk to high school. Chris Trumbull claims that he painted it there because “because society is not looking at the truth.”
The sign is Trumbull’s interpretation of the Bible passage Leviticus 20:13, which states:
If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
After refusing to remove the message when asked, city officials claim that the message is protected speech and there was nothing the city could do to remove it.

From the Vatican: Homosexuality causes pedophilia
In response to the latest slew of pedophilia charges towards the Catholic Church, the Vatican’s number two in command suggests the incidents are linked to homosexuality rather than celibacy.
The Associated Press reports Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone’s rather unsettling comments during a press conference in Chile.
“Many psychologists and psychiatrists have demonstrated that there is no relation between celibacy and pedophilia. But many others have demonstrated, I have been told recently, that there is a relation between homosexuality and pedophilia. That is true,” said Bertone. “That is the problem.”
Chile recently became a hotbed of accusations against the Catholic Church. At least one of the priests, however, is accused of targeting young girls. A teenaged girl has even become pregnant.

Westboro Baptist Church appoints first gay minister
Topeka, Kansas — The Westboro Baptist Church has made history today, appointing its first openly gay minister. James Arrington, a 32-year-old minister hopes that he will set an example for others.
James Arrington is an openly gay minister who grew up in Topeka, Kansas.
In an interview with Equalitopia, Arrington said that he did not expect to be appointed a minister into the church. “I’m not sure exactly what it was,” he explained, “but I felt like I wouldn’t really fit into the church.”
Arrington hopes that being gay will set an example for the church’s members that God is accepting of everyone. “I plan on encouraging others in the church not to be afraid of their sexuality,” he said, “we just need to be ourselves and live by the word of God.”
Gay rights advocates call it a major victory for the LGBT movement, hoping that the Westboro Baptist Church will set an example for others.
The Westboro Baptist Church has not disclosed when Arrington’s first church service will take place, in fear that the public might protest the service.
