Constance McMillen talks with Ellen Degeneres about her fight for equality
Constance McMillen from Mississippi wanted to bring her girlfriend to the high school prom. Rather than allow it, her high school decided to completely cancel the prom for everyone. Now Constance is making headlines for fighting for her rights, and Ellen Degeneres invited her to the show to tell her inspiring story.
At the end of their on-air discussion, Ellen presented McMillen with an check representing a $30 thousand college tuition grant donated from one of her corporate contacts.
